Wet Bag Sizing Updates

Large Bag, Medium Bag, XS Bag
Over the last few days, I have started to update the shop with some new sizing structures for my wet bags. I wanted to put it all down here so that customers have a reference point for the sizing. These changes have been carefully considered and are the result of customer questions and feedback as well as some careful cost analysis (as pricing has changed, my costs made it so I was losing money on my best selling items).

The sizing you see here will be what most commonly gets stocked in the store, but other odd sizes might pop up here or there, and different sizes can always be done as a custom request.

Every bag is handmade, and as such can have a slight variation in measurements. All bags (unless specifically stated) have a 100% cotton exterior and 1 mil PUL interior with zipper closure. The zipper goes along the shorter side. Some fabrics will tend to shrink slightly after the first few washes, so measurements may change.

(Extra Large) Hanging Wet Bag

Size: about 18" by 26"

Current pricing: $28-$35

These bags are designed to replace a standing diaper pail. They will hold approximately 16-25 dirty diapers, depending on size, brand, type, etc. The bag has two handles to be able to hang from a doorknob, changing table, or anchored wall hook. Be careful, 20+ dirty diapers get quite heavy.

For a non diaper related use: wet towels from the bathroom!

Large (Day Trip) Wet Bag

Size: about 12.5" by 18"

Current pricing: $18-$22

These bags are great for sending to day care. They will hold approximately 5-9 diapers. Side snapped handle allows you to hang from a doorknob, stroller, clothes rack, etc. This bag was previously my "medium" bag size. I know all this sizing is totally subjective, but after a lot of research, I came to the conclusion that this bag should be labeled as "large."

How you could use this without cloth diapering: stuff wet swim suits in here for the whole family! (Just wring them out a bit, first).

Medium Wet Bag

Size: about 10.5" by 14"

Current pricing: $14-$18

Still a great option to send to daycare (especially if it's not full day), this will hold approximately 3-6 diapers. Still with a side handle, it's my favorite size to toss in the diaper bag for outings now with a newborn and two year old.

How else this bag gets used: do you know how many outfits a newborn wets through? Spits up on? Pees on as you are trying to change her diaper at lightening speed? Even if you don't use cloth diapers, you want this in your diaper bag. (Also, a preschool recently ordered these for all their students to have to send dirty outfits home).

Small Wet Bag

Size: about 9" by 12"

Current pricing: $10-$14

Unless you are using newborn diapers (or flats...those hardly take any space!) this will hold 2-3 dirty diapers for you. Great for a quick trip out, or as an extra/backup to keep in the diaper bag. Also great for those quick outfit changes when you don't know where to put the poopy clothes. Sometimes these stock with a strap, but not always. If you want one with a strap, you can always place a custom order! Just be sure to include that in our conversation.

Non-diaper related uses: keep it in your kitchen to hold wet washcloths or unpaper towels. Single-user after swim lessons. Mama cloth. Wet wipes. What else? There are plenty more ideas out there!

Extra Small Wet Bag (Wipes Pouch)

Size: about 6" by 9"

Current pricing: $8

These babies (pun intended) are great for wet wipes - cloth or disposable! A cute little pouch that you can refill from your big wipes supply at home and store in the diaper bag, your car, your purse...or if you are a cloth wipes user, be confident in having presoaked wipes always with you in your favorite wipe solution. These pouches come with a snap down the middle so you can easily keep the bag folded and keep the moisture away from the zipper.

Also used for: pacifier/teether/toys, cosmetics, mama cloth

The Rest of the Rundown

The pricing varies due to the price of the outer fabric of the bag. Some of these fabrics are $4/yard while others run at $15/yard. The hanging wet bag uses almost a full yard of outer fabric, inner fabric, zipper, handles...you get the idea.

Also, the listed prices don't include shipping costs. Ah, shipping costs. International customers: I charge a minimum $8 per item (slightly less for Canada), but I am happy to refund overages if needed. I do this to prevent major losses (learned the hard way).

One thing I didn't (and don't) suggest using in these bags is food. The FDA doesn't really encourage food to be stored in PUL (polyurethane laminate). So I don't encourage it either. BUT! I do have ripstop nylon on hand, which CAN be used for snack bags, and I would be happy to take custom requests for food/snack bags!

And finally...a reason for my recent silence: my second little ducky. Born July 16. Love her!
